Chiara Chiavenna
Chiara joined Bocconi University as a full-time postdoctoral researcher after completing her PhD in Biostatistics at the University of Cambridge and a one-year project at Public Health England.
Her research interests focus on statistical models to make inference from healthcare data, mostly longitudinal and observational. In her recent work, she investigated time-series models to estimate the burden of infections and used counterfactual methods to quantify the impact of public health interventions, with applications to influenza, COVID and HIV. She is now studying behavioural and demographic determinants of vaccine hesitancy, as well as collaborating with local healthcare providers and government bodies to estimate the importance of long COVID.
